Go this place

Just came across a nice website called Gothisplace which allows you to identify attractions in a given surrounding area.

It’s not perfect though. I noticed one park in the wrong place on the map and a couple of country parks which hadn’t been included at all, but it’s relatively useful when you’re stuck for ideas.  The search option is relatively straightforward, and while it reset itself to the area surrounding Hamilton, it was easy to fix.

Overall, not a bad guide to what’s around, but probably more useful for areas you don’t know so well.

Clyde Panorama

Just discovered a wonderful little website aiming to show a panorama of the whole of the Clyde from its source right through to the Firth.

Its called Panorama of the Clyde, and only a few pieces have been included so far.You can join a mailing list for updates.

My only minor issues are that that you never really know where you are at any given point, and there’s no control over the panorama, but since it’s still a work in progress, I’m sure that will be fixed later. It’s a wonderful idea.
