I noticed this old road on an old Ordnance Survey map, and discovered more about it through a post on Flickr.

Craigmuir Road, also known as The Bricky, was blocked by the creation of the A725 to East Kilbride (I remember my dad telling us that we were driving on this new road). It’s still a right of way.

I’ve been told that its nickname comes from the limekilns that were sited round about, but I’ve not had the chance to hunt for those yet.
